End Greyhound Racing

In May 2021 we presented over 11,500 handwritten signatures on our petition to end greyhound racing in WA. This was a huge achievement considering that these signatures were collected during the pandemic. Unfortunately the government advised us that this figure was not representative of the WA population. Sign the new petition to help us end greyhound racing in WA.

The Snoot Is Free!

After an almost 5-year-long Free the Snoot campaign, we can now celebrate companion greyhounds being allowed to be unmuzzled in public in Western Australia.

In February 2020, the Dog Amendment (Stop Puppy Farming) Bill 2020, which includes the removal of the requirement for pet greyhounds to be muzzled in public was introduced to WA Parliament.

Ban Greyhound Export

Between 2016 and 2021, 1,313 greyhounds were exported overseas from Australia. The current ineffective rules that regulate greyhound export for reasons such as breeding, racing, and other commercial purposes, means that these animals are frequently at risk of serious cruelty, neglect, and abuse. Will you sign our petition to support a ban on commercial greyhound exports?

Free The Hounds acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures; and to elders both past and present.
