Meeting at CanningtonRace 3 – Novice/Provincial/380 – Novice – 7:45 PM
On pulling up in the catching pen, MISSY collapsed for no apparent reason and when attended to by the On Course
Veterinarian shortly after was found to be deceased.
Trainer Mr G Ellis advised that the greyhound had not required any treatment prior to the race and had been rested following its last performance on 23 June 2023. When examined this morning it was fit and normal and he had no concerns leading up to the race.
Post mortem samples were taken for analysis and an autopsy is to be conducted.
An inquiry has been opened and adjourned until such time as all results have been received
